The current residence of the French Embassy was built in 1880/81 by the French architect Oscar Bélanger on behalf of the notary Léon Majerus, co-founder of the City of Luxembourg's ‘Grand Theâtre’ 155 years ago. In 1920, the engineer Paul Wurth set up offices here to sell cast iron, rivets, metals and industrial items. Since 1930, the magnificent hotel has been the residence of the French embassy. Visit organised as part of the 70th anniversary of the Luxembourg-France cultural convention.
