The Music Corps of the Federal Contingent is the oldest professional wind band in the Grand Duchy. The everyday life of the musicians is not only characterised by military service. Their occasional serenades, accompaniment at processions, funerals, award ceremonies, inaugurations and other public events as well as benefit concerts are extremely popular with the inhabitants of the garrison towns. In addition to the batons of conductors Höbich and Zinnen and instruments such as a wooden flute and a jingle tree, the extraordinary organ of King Grand Duke Willem II takes centre stage on this tour.
