The career of officer Louis-Alphonse Munchen (1819-1881) spans almost the entire 19th century like no other, with his service in the Royal Dutch Army, the Federal Contingent, the Jäger Corps and the Volunteer Company. Revolution, nation and organisation shaped his life in service just as much as family happiness, friendships and losses. Previously unseen and well-known exhibits are used to tell personal stories about the social and military challenges in Luxembourg at the time.
